Maximallly Distressed
From Mark van Kempen of Amsterdam, Netherlands on .
A brooding concert, somewhat uneven - sometimes messy, but frequently very intense, especially the improvisations. Very good multitrack soundmix. One of my favourite Club releases.
Quality Warranted
From Takahiro Yamaguchi of Tokyo, Japan on .
This is the one of the best must-buy items in DGM Library. From the viewpoint of the sound quality, this album can equal, or surpass the famous live album of Amsterdam. Fracture's Score (if existing) had already been edited as heard in Starless and Bible Black (or Amsterdam live). You should compare this edition with the early one in Glasgow live. I am non-native English speaker, so I was first confused about what excise means. I understand the situation well now. Thanks, web dictionary. To my content, Talking Drum doesn't end as heard in the disk 4 of The Great Deceiver Box, and continues to LTIA. Yeah!
interesting edit
From the_naughty_gnostic of Escondido, California on .
only a brief comment regarding the edit on the Laws 1 and 2/Mincer edit and transformation:
The transition from the first Law of Maximum Distress to the audience bootleg recording is flawless, it flows as almost indistinguishable from the muti-tracks, one never knows when the master ends and the boot begins......Perfect!
But the transition from the "Mincer" section to the 2nd Law is too rough and abrupt.....the next time you do this, mix or integrate the boot in slowly with the masters, like with the Law of Max 1 transitioning into the boot, an "overlapping" technique and change-over.......now THAT was SMOOTH!

Amazing outstanding Larks band concert
From Indyrod of Indianapolis, Indiana on .
I found this Club release to be absolutely excellent, in fact, mindblowing. Fripp and Lark's band absolutely tear through this era's best material. If a live recording could be judged as perfect, this would be the one. Everything, every track including some great improvs, ran chills down my spine. Thing is, how did back in 1973, did people react to seeing such an incredible and one of a kind band perform flawlessly, some pretty evil and unbelievably precise music. This recording alone would classify Fripp as one of the great guitarists to ever grace the stage. And also, this is what Progressive Rock is all about, something brand new, something people had never heard before, something that may have them leaving the venue shaking their heads, totally stunned (and probably stoned). I love this 2-disc release, it shows the Larks band at its absolute best.
Fantastic concert!!
From Mark McClintock of Raleigh, North Carolina on .
King Crimson was smoking hot in 1973. This concert is every bit as good as the Glasgow concert and Amsterdam (The Night Watch). The sound quality is first rate and the performance is King Crimson at their best. The improv's are great. The bootleg source used for "The Mincer" is good, although obviously not quite as good as the rest of the CD. Great job on restoring this track. A must buy for any enthusiast!!
