EARTHQUAKE
From Mark van Kempen of Amsterdam, Netherlands on .
To my ears this is the hottest concert that has been recorded on the Earthbound tour, except for the Delaware concert, which was partially released on the Earthbound album.
This cd is a great complement to the Earthbound album.
Good not great
From Joe Prisco of Snohomish, Washington on .
I think the big attraction of this release was the fact that it was the first live show made available from this band.
Now, we all know the KCCC releases won't win prizes for sound, and Jacksonville rates only middling for this band precisely because of its frequently distorted sound quality. Still, it's certainly no worse than EARTHBOUND; after you've heard Summit Studios, Orlando and Jacksonville probably won't be far behind. And now it's available as a download, so go on over to the live library and check it out.
A very good show from the Earthbound tour
From Jerry Smith of Tacoma, Washington on .
This is actually a very good performance and the sound is better than Earthbound. Although I think that Earthbound has some great material too. Both Earthbound and this were taken from cassette soundboard tapes. This however is probably a master tape whereas the Earthbound cd is a cleaned up copy of the record. The opening of Pictures Of A City is so tight it knocks me on my behind everytime. Cirkus is a delight to listen to. The next three songs are of Islands material and are just as good. Once again, Schizoid Man rocks. The only worry I have is in the booklet, Robert Fripp says "...in 1972 most of the vocal repertoire was probably past it's performance date." I'm not sure if he's talking about the songs in Boz's hands or if he's talking about the material in general. I hope not given the fact that I love these albums.
